Casinos Have Their Origins in Italy
Gorgeous casinos can be found all over the world, including in a few well-known places like Macao, London, and, of course, Las Vegas. Everyone would argue that their experience was the best, but who was the first?
Actually, Italy, where the word "casino" first appeared, holds that distinction. It comes from the root word "casa," which means "house." Over time, that word expanded to include a variety of places, including social clubs and summerhouses. Additionally, we are aware that organized gambling first appeared in Venice in 1638. We certainly have a great debt to those early Italians, even though other nations may have jumped at the chance to take up the mantle.
